Missing

(in progress)

This project shines a light on individuals who have gone missing in Vancouver, with a focus on Indigenous people, women, and young adults—groups that are disproportionately represented among the missing. I’ve been profoundly affected by how their photos, often paired with detailed descriptions, reach out to us, urging us to pause and acknowledge their absence. The subject of missing persons has always intrigued me. I’ve often wondered what it means when someone disappears—how that absence manifests itself in the lives of those left behind. How does that void shape the emotional landscape of our collective memory? And that’s how these series of work started to shape.
