An Unfinished Archive
For An Unfinished Archive series, I explore memory, identity, and the complexities of migration as an immigrant artist. My sculptural piece features photographs from my hometown, Tehran, arranged on a hand-built foam board box. Pierced with holes and designed to float on water, the work evokes the fragility and fluidity of memory. In its original presentation, the sculpture was set afloat in a shallow pool. The foam board symbolizes impermanence and loss—light, vulnerable, and easily worn away—mirroring the fading echoes of a former home.
